VOGUE, DECEMBER 2016

We manage to catch the rising actors of Frame by Frame in the midst of their busy schedules for an interview. The two actors have been a lot busier these days, but an appointment with both of them have been settled in a corner of a quiet cafe in Itaewon. Tonight Kris has his stylish winter coat on while Suho looks comfortable with his sweater. They have always been the contrast we admire.

What are you guys up to these days?
K: I just finished filming my next movie in Shanghai. I literally just flew in here last night [Kris laughs]
S: I auditioned for a new role last week, and I’m just praying for the best now.
K: Is that the thing you told me yesterday?
S: Yes, it is. It is a secret.

Frame by Frame hit the best rating for webdrama this month.
K: Really? This is my first time hearing about it.
S: I’m actually monitoring the progress and glad that they like what we made.

Congratulations for such a big achievement.
S: Because we are trying something new, I didn’t expect people would like it.
K: They are talking about it in China, too. It surprised me when one of my fans told me they like the latest episode at the airport.

The viewers love the chemistry you show in the series. But how are you guys really in real life?
K: We got close after the filming. Both of us are busy now, but when we are free we make sure to contact each other.
S: When he is back in China or filming in other countries he sent me pictures.
K: They are beautiful, right?
S: Yes, very much. I would like to go there sometimes.
K: Next time I’ll take you with me [Kris says this with a serious face, but Suho laughs it away]

We prepare a special corner called ‘Relationship Test’ to see if you guys are really close to each other.
[Suho looks flustered with surprise, while Kris claps his hands in excitement.]
S: This is so sudden!
K: Can we do it, though?
S: We can, we can.

Vogue is giving them same questions to answer but they can’t see the other’s answers to see if both of them know each other well.

What’s Kris’s shoe size?
S: Oh my God.
K: Do you know? You don’t know. I’ve never told you.
[Suho looks down at Kris’s feet and compares their feet together]
K: You are cheating!
S: Am not! Um, 280? 290?
K: You cheated.
S: Am I right? [Suho is correct] Yes!
K: You totally cheated.

What’s Suho’s favorite color?
K: Purple. [Kris is correct]
S: It’s too easy!
K: It’s too easy.

Which sport does Kris like to do?
S: Basketball. [Suho is correct]
K: Now this one is too easy.

What’s Suho’s favorite Japanese dish?
S: What is it?
K: You don’t know?
S: Oh! I remember now.
K: Takoyaki? [Kris is wrong] It’s wrong? But you told me about that takoyaki stall you frequented at Apgujeong Station.
S: It’s really delicious, but my heart is for Sushi.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve said to each other?
K: Suho is never funny.
S: I’m changing my answer to that.
K: [Kris laughs] Okay, that’s a good one.

Tea or coffee?
K: He’s [Suho, -red] a coffee man. Koreans love coffee, americano all day. I don’t even understand. They drink it like it’s mineral water.
S: You do, too.
K: You’re a bad influence. But I prefer the tea my mom always makes me back home.

Any habit of each other that annoys you off?
S: I wrote in my answer sheet that he snores too loud when he sleeps.
K: When?
S: When we roomed together for that celebration trip after the filming ended.
K: You didn’t tell me.
S: What, should I record and set it as your alarm?
K: Now that’s the habit of yours that always annoys me off.

Last question, do you believe in soul mates?
S: I do.
K: [Kris pauses for a while] Yeah, a bit.

Thank you for your time. It’s been pleasing meeting with you. I hope for the best for your careers.

S: Thank you for having us.

K: It's a pleasure to have this interview.
